CURRICULUM VITAE OF WERNER MINKE
I was born on December 8, 1919 in Bremen, Germany, where I also received my basic
education.
After serving in the army during World War II, for five years, I took a leading
part in our family business.
In 1946 I was married. Two daughters were born into that marriage.
After immigrating to the United States in 1953, I was employed in a printing firm
in New York City.
At the age of 41 I felt the call into the ministry after my wife had died of
cancer of the brain.
I entered Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan in 1961. In 1962,
during the seminary time, I was married to Helen Buss.
After graduating from Western Theological Seminary in 1964 I was ordained to the
Gospel Ministry at the First. Reformed Church in Lafayette, Indiana where I served
until 1970.
Following a call by the Church Expansion Committee of the Reformed Church in
America, we moved to Miami, Florida to start a new Drive-in, Walk-in Church.
After three building phases and 15 years of service at North Dade Community Church
in Miami, I retired as of December 31, 1984, becoming Pastor Emeritus of the congregation.
At [the time of writing this] I am involved as the Director of the church affiliated Sunshine Day Care Center. I am a member of the North Dade Chamber of Commerce and various church committees on the regional and national level.
